Is this bespoke custom tuning?
No. This is a configured preset calibration for supported naturally aspirated combinations, not open-ended revision-based tuning.
Will anything be shipped?
The tune file is delivered by email. A cable or other physical add-on ships separately if you purchase one.
What if I am not sure which tune fits?
Use Find Your BMW Tune or send your VIN, engine, ECU/controller ID, and modification list before ordering.

This is a platform-developed, naturally aspirated calibration for supported N62B44 V8 vehicles using Bosch ME9.2. The stage is not a parts list and does not tell you which modifications the car must have.
Choose the stage based on the calibration level and driving character wanted for your supported vehicle and setup. Vehicle/setup details and supported feature preferences are collected by email after ordering.
HOW TO ORDER
- Confirm the actual vehicle configuration. Describe only parts that are installed or will be installed before flashing.
- Choose the Stage variant on this page. The stage controls calibration level—not which parts the customer is required to purchase.
Suggested modifications are not requirements. An intake, exhaust, headers, manifold, or cams do not automatically make the car Stage 2 or Stage 3. If support for your exact setup is uncertain, contact Poverty Built before ordering.
WHAT EACH STAGE MEANS
STAGE 1 — OEM+
The cleanest performance calibration, focused on improved response, optimized control strategies, and smooth factory-style drivability.
STAGE 2 — PERFORMANCE
A more assertive naturally aspirated calibration with additional performance optimization and stronger response than Stage 1, configured around the submitted hardware.
STAGE 3 — MAXIMUM N/A
The most comprehensive and aggressive staged naturally aspirated calibration offered by Poverty Built for supported combinations on this platform.

Compatibility note: ME9.2 EK/ROM compatibility must be confirmed with Poverty Built before ordering. Provide ECU identification or a read only if requested.
WHAT IS CALIBRATED
Depending on the supported ROM, stage, and submitted supported preferences, calibration work may include:
- Drive-by-wire throttle and pedal response
- Part-load and full-load fueling
- Ignition timing
- Double-VANOS intake and exhaust cam behavior
- Valvetronic and load-control behavior
- Torque modeling and power delivery
- Idle, cooling-fan, rev-limiter, and top-speed preferences where supported
- Supported diagnostic and immobilizer configuration when selected
DIGITAL TUNE DELIVERY
The tune itself is delivered by email. No physical tune is shipped, and no tracking number is expected.
- Your calibration file and applicable flashing instructions are sent to the email address used at checkout.
- Choose the appropriate Stage variant. After ordering, email your order number and vehicle/setup information to help@povertybuilt.com; see ordering details below.
- A full ECU read is not required unless Poverty Built requests one after reviewing the order.
- Flashing software, licenses, cables, and interfaces are separate unless this listing or your order specifically says they are included.
- If your order also includes a cable or other physical hardware, that item ships separately. A shipping label means the package is being prepared; it is not in transit until the carrier receives it.
ORDER SETUP BY EMAIL
After ordering, email your order number, VIN, vehicle, engine, installed hardware/setup, fuel, transmission, and requested supported features to help@povertybuilt.com. Describe the car exactly as it will be when flashed. Poverty Built will request ECU identification or a file read only if needed.
If ECU/ROM compatibility, the correct flashing tool, or any unlock/access requirement is uncertain, contact Poverty Built before ordering to confirm eligibility, the exact flashing route, and any separate costs.
WHAT YOU RECEIVE
- A Poverty Built platform-developed staged calibration configured around the submitted supported combination
- Delivery in the supported flashing format
- Correction of a verified file issue if the delivered file does not match the submitted order
Changes outside the options and revision allowance shown on this listing are separate work. Open-ended custom development and mechanical diagnosis are not included unless this listing explicitly says otherwise. A verified issue in the supplied file will be corrected through Poverty Built support; it is not treated as a request for new tuning work.
FLASHING SOFTWARE & EQUIPMENT
The intended app is Bimmer Tuning Tools ME9.2 QuickFlash (currently $49). Its software license and the compatible cable/interface are purchased separately and are not included in this calibration price. Tool support varies by EK/ROM, including tune-only versus full-flash access; confirm the exact route before ordering. Follow the app’s system and connection requirements.
BEFORE FLASHING
- The vehicle must be mechanically healthy and free of unresolved engine, fuel, ignition, airflow, VANOS/Valvetronic, cooling, or drivetrain faults.
- If Poverty Built needs a file read or additional ECU identification for the specific order, we will request it. You do not need to submit a full read unless asked. Use compatible flashing equipment.
- Maintain stable battery voltage and a reliable connection while reading or writing the ECU.
CLOSED-COURSE / OFF-ROAD USE
Any selected option that changes the operation or reporting of emissions-related equipment is intended only for lawful closed-course competition or off-road use. The purchaser is responsible for compliance with applicable laws.

The vehicle must be mechanically sound and properly maintained before and after tuning. The purchase is also subject to the posted refund and service policies.
