BMW N51/N52 MSV70 N/A Tune — Stage 1/2/3

Configure the car first. Choose the stage second.

This is a platform-developed, naturally aspirated calibration for N51/N52 inline-six vehicles using MSV70. The stage is not a parts list and does not tell you which modifications the car must have.

Use the Tune Configurator to describe the car exactly as it will be when the tune is flashed. Once the vehicle, engine, hardware, fuel, transmission, and requested ECU behavior are correct, choose the stage based on the level and driving character you want.

HOW TO ORDER

1. Confirm the ECU. Model year and chassis are not enough by themselves. The ECU identification or read must match this listing.
2. Complete every product option accurately. Select only the engine, hardware, fuel, and requested features that will actually be on the car when flashed.
3. Choose the stage. The stage determines the level and character of the calibration—not which parts you are required to install.

Example: An intake, headers, exhaust, manifold, or cams do not automatically make a car Stage 2 or Stage 3. Select the installed parts in the options, then choose the stage that matches the performance and behavior you want. Suggested modifications can improve the result, but they are not stage requirements.

If the exact setup is not represented in the available options, contact us before ordering instead of selecting the closest answer.

WHAT EACH STAGE MEANS

STAGE 1 — OEM+

The cleanest and simplest performance calibration. Stage 1 focuses on response, smooth power delivery, and factory-like drivability.

Hardware reminder: Stage 1 does not mean stock parts only. The submitted options still tell us how the car is configured.

STAGE 2 — PERFORMANCE

A more assertive naturally aspirated calibration with additional performance optimization and stronger response than Stage 1. The file is still configured around the hardware selections submitted with the order.

Common bolt-ons are suggestions, not requirements.

STAGE 3 — MAXIMUM N/A

The most comprehensive and aggressive naturally aspirated calibration offered by Poverty Built for supported combinations on this platform.

Major modifications are not automatically required. Select only the hardware actually installed on the car.

FITMENT

• Supported E6X, E8X, E9X, and E89 BMW applications equipped with N51/N52 and MSV70

Important: MSV70 and MSV80 are different ECU families. Confirm the ECU identification before ordering.

WHAT IS CALIBRATED

Depending on the stage and options selected, the calibration may include:

• Drive-by-wire throttle and pedal response
• Part-load and full-load fueling
• Ignition timing
• Double-VANOS intake and exhaust cam behavior
• Valvetronic and load-control behavior
• DISA-aware airflow and torque delivery where applicable
• Idle, cooling-fan, rev-limiter, and top-speed preferences where supported
• Supported diagnostic and immobilizer configuration when selected

THE TUNE CONFIGURATOR IS PART OF THE ORDER

The options collect the configuration and behavior needed to prepare the correct supported file. They do not determine the stage automatically. Incorrect selections can produce an incorrect file, so review the entire form before checkout.

BEFORE YOU ORDER

• The vehicle must be mechanically healthy. A calibration will not repair vacuum leaks, failing sensors, weak fuel delivery, ignition faults, cooling problems, low compression, or other mechanical issues.
• Choose options for the car exactly as it will be driven with this tune.
• Hardware changes made after delivery may require purchasing an updated calibration.
• Results vary with vehicle condition, fuel quality, altitude, weather, and installed hardware.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE

• A Poverty Built platform-developed calibration configured around the selections submitted with the order
• Flashing guidance for the supported MSV70 process
• Correction of a verified tune-related issue if the delivered file does not match the submitted order

This is a staged Poverty Built product for supported combinations. It does not include one-off development, repeated datalog review, ongoing revisions, or later hardware changes. Builds requiring an individualized calibration process should use UNDSPTD. bespoke tuning.

FLASHING REQUIREMENTS

Use a compatible flashing method for the supported ECU. If Poverty Built needs a file read or additional ECU identification for your specific order, we will request it. You do not need to submit a full read unless asked. The customer is responsible for stable battery voltage, correct file handling, and a reliable connection during flashing.

CLOSED-COURSE / OFF-ROAD USE

Any selected option that changes the operation or reporting of emissions-related equipment is intended only for lawful closed-course competition or off-road use. You are responsible for knowing and following all laws that apply to the vehicle and location.
